Description:
- Used Postage Stamp, 5000 Marks, from Germany, from the years 1922 and 1923. Blackish green.
- On the Obverse it has the Number “50000” in the center, surrounded by the legend “Deutsches Reich Fünftausend Mark”. In each corner it has the “5000” inside a circle. All surrounded by filigree.
- The Reverse is clean, with the exception that the Postmark shows through.
- Vertical teeth: 18. Vertical perforations:17.
- Horizontal teeth: 27. Horizontal perforations:26.
- Round postmark not legible.
- Printed on good quality, medium-thick paper, very light off-white, made in a monochrome Blackish Green tone, very good ink, good printing and good centering.
- No distinctive, mark or hallmark has been located that could provide more information about this Postal Stamp.
Conservation and Damage:
- General Condition: Good.
- The Seal has probably not been washed, retaining some of the rubber. Part of a previous hinge is attached to the back of the stamp.
- The paper is clean and has no rust.
- Well preserved teeth.
- There is no lack or breakage in the seal.
- The Postal Stamp presents the deterioration typical of it’s time.
