Description:
- Sculpture of Sarasvati, Hindu goddess of knowledge and wisdom playing the Tanpura, although her worship extends to the entire area of Hindu influence, including Myanmar or Burma, and Siam or Thailand, the area between the two countries from which this sculpture probably originates.
- The sculpture is made of bronze, hollow in one piece, with a red patina, probably based on Armenian bowl, as a base for fixing the gold leaf.
- The sculpture has great movement, very careful proportions and a spectacular result, highlighting the harmony that its contemplation conveys.
- The casting of the sculpture is very good, and its execution is very careful, having generated a beautiful patina, a product of time, with a very attractive and high quality appearance.
- No distinctive markings, marks or contrasts have been found that could provide information about the sculpture.

Conservation and Damage:
- The sculpture has broken off the end of the handle of the Tanpura, including the pegbox, at the level of the hand. With the exception of this fault, the bronze is in perfect condition.
- It retains a spectacular period patina.
- The figure shows wear to the gold leaf layer, exposing the red base, probably made of Armenian bowl, used for fixing the gold.
- It has small dents and scratches.
- The figure shows the deterioration typical of it’s time.
