Description:
Beautiful hanging hood, very small in size, with a lip diameter of 4"4 cm. And that at the time was used for various purposes. The most common use was to warn of the presence of certain animals, for which it was hung from the animal"s collar.
The shoulder, upper part of the bell, is smooth. The half foot, where the clapper hits, is reinforced externally and highlighted with two rings and the largest thickness of the foot. The ring is very thin, and is broken at one end due to rust.
The clapper is original and is kept in perfect condition. The bell is little used, so the interior of the half foot has the mark of the clapper slightly marked.
After carefully analyzing the bell, we have come to the conclusion that it is cast in two pieces. In the first phase the glass melts leaving a hole in its upper part. In the second phase, the handle is fused, to which the ring is incorporated, which is inserted through the hole left in the cup.
Very interesting as a collector"s item and due to its extraordinary patina, its appearance is very decorative. Spectacular in an illuminated niche, with minimalist decoration. It is quite rare to find a bell, this size and so complete.
