EMPIRE GARRISON. CENTRAL CLOCK WITH VASES

Description:
The Garrison is from the Empire era, probably made in France, from the beginning of the First Half of the 19th century. It is composed of a central colonnade with a clock, and two glasses on its sides. The Garrison is made of white marble with gold bronze finials. Being the garrison of pure empire style, we can place it between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. After having analyzed it carefully, we have come to the conclusion that it possibly belongs to the First Half of the 19th century. The central clock has a Paris machinery. It has a large sphere, 11"6 cm. diameter. The Sphere is signed by S. Bentejact, in Bordeaux. In the machinery we have located the numerical inscription "9772" that probably belongs to the serial number of its manufacture. In addition, it has marked the inscriptions JB / 3-20 and HB-IZ-56 A, which probably belong to individual repairs.
None of the inscriptions described, allows us to identify the manufacturer of the watch. The signature S. Bentejact of the dial can belong to the watchmaker who sold it in Bordeaux. The colonnade is composed of the following four parts: Base, column body, entablature and auction. The base of the colonnade has a white marble plate, with matte gilded bronze fixtures. It is supported on four bolted pieces of matt gold bronze. The entablature is composed of a central clock, with two side white marble tables, topped with a gilded gilt bronze balustrade. On the tables there are four white marble cups, each one on the vertical of each one of the columns, and they are finished off with a floral piece of gilded golden bronze. The Remate is centered on the Clock, having the shape of a glass with a cover, all of it in white marble and a foot of gilded golden bronze. On the cover of the cup there is an auction with a floral piece of gilded golden bronze. Cups of matt gold bronze hang from the cup.
The side cups are composed of the following three parts: Foot, Fuste and Body.
The foot of each side cup, has a white marble plate, with matt gold bronze appliqués. It is supported on three screwed pieces of matt gold bronze.
The shaft of each lateral cup, is formed by three heads of ram from which comes an elongated leg. The heads of sheep are united by garlands of plant forms with flowers. All this is matte golden bronze.
The body of each side cup, is a white marble chalice, topped by a perforated band of gilded gilded bronze, with a cover topped with a floral piece of gilded gilded bronze.
The entire garrison is made with great care and taking care of even the smallest detail. The bronze is meticulously worked and chiselled. It has a fantastic patina. No type of Mark, inscription or badge has been found, which could guide us on the authors of such a spectacular piece.

Conservation and Damage:
The marble has blows in various parts, with small breaks and faults, which do not detract from the assembly of the lining. Very interesting as a collector
