CLOCK AND CARD SET:
- This set of objects related to the Radio, contains a pair of Hourglasses, belonging to the Radio and Television Station "IBERIA", along with the Photo of the radio announcer Africa Morales, from Radio Dersa in Tetuan, whose back has printed propaganda of the Radio Station "IBERIA". The set dates from the very beginning of the Second Half of the 20th century.
HOURGLASSES:
Description:
- Pair of Hourglasses. Duration of 3 minutes. They were used to measure time on the Radio and in the early days of Television. They date from very early Second Half of the 20th century.
- One of the Clocks is very well preserved. The painting of the Badges that are in the Bases are very well preserved, allowing a good reading. A Base has the IBERIA Radio TV Badge. The other Base has the Badge "V", "S", "C", inscribed each letter in a rhombus that is missing a side. The three rhombuses are joined so that they form an exagon, which is missing three of its sides.
- The other Clock is partially disassembled, since the Bases have taken off from the Body. As a couple, it has been considered that this circumstance makes it easier to analyze the assembly of the Clocks. The Badges of the bases, equal to those of the other Clock, can hardly be seen, since they are practically missing all of their painting.
- Each Clock is composed of Four Parts. A central body, two bases and the glass bubble with two capsules and the sand inside. The central body has two plastic rings at its ends, which are attached to the three metal pillars by screws. Each Base has a metal ring and a pad inside to seat the Bubble. The Bases are attached to the plastic rings of the ends of the Body by glue.
- The Watches have a fantastic patina, so together with their characteristics, they have an attractive and charming appearance.
