Description:
- Small pencil cup, representing a monkey.
- It has a mark on its base and another on the back of the monkey, which reads: A. Peyró.
- Antonio Peyró Mezquita (1887-1954), a ceramicist from Castellón who distinguished himself by his personal modelling of figures, the splendid decoration and rich colouring of his works. He specialised in sculpture, ceramics and drawing. Self-taught, his style was regional with Baroque overtones.
- Probably made of earthenware, it is small in size, which is why we think it was intended for children and young people.
- It is executed with great detail and artistic quality. It depicts a smiling monkey with big ears.
