- The Criterion by Don Jaime Balmes, presbyter. Licensed.
- The author, Jaime Balmes y Urpía was a Spanish philosopher, theologian, apologist, sociologist and political treatise writer. Familiar with the doctrine of St. Thomas Aquinas, he did not belong to any particular school or current, and was described by Pius XII as the Prince of Modern Apologetics.
- The book contains no engravings. It deals with topics on thinking well, questions of existence, of possibility, logic in accordance with charity, etc.

- Cuts guillotined, with some soiling, and with minimal rubbing.
- The tips are slightly deteriorated with light creases and folds.
- The book has not suffered external aggressions such as attacks by insects, rodents, etc.
- The book shows wear typical of it’s age.
