Description:
- Signed oil painting on canvas of a seascape. Large size.
- The painting, signed with: A. Gisbert, probably belongs to an almost unknown painter, about whom we have very little information.
- He was born in Alcoy in 1950. His artistic training was influenced by D. Edmundo Jordá, a disciple of Emilio Sala and Fernando Cabrera. He belongs to that group of ascetic painters who, of their own volition, have distanced themselves from the jumble of trends, isms and schools that, in turbulent confusion, fight for the avant-garde, leaving traces of sincerity in each new fashion they embrace and follow. His work can be found in private collections.
- The painting depicts a seascape with several boats on both sides. It is framed in a large frame, worthy of the painting.
- The artistic quality and execution are spectacular. The brushstrokes are thick and fluid, giving the oil painting great liveliness.
- The details of the oil painting and the use of colour are truly magnificent. Ochre colours predominate.
Conservation and Damage:
- The oil painting is in perfect condition.
- It retains a spectacular period patina.
- The frame has minor knocks and scratches, which are insignificant.
- The object shows wear and tear consistent with it’s age.
