Description:
- Used postage stamp, 80 pence, from Germany, year 1924. Medium blue.
- Obverse has a portrait of Heinrich von Stephan. On the upper part appears the legend ‘Deutsches Reich’. On the left side appears the legend ‘Fünfzig Jahre’. On the right-hand side is the legend ‘Weltpostverein’. In each lower corner is the figure ‘80’. In the lower centre is a trumpet.
- The reverse is clean, with the exception of the postmark.
- Vertical toothing:18. Vertical perforations:17.
- Horizontal indentation:15. Horizontal perforations:14.
- Horizontal lobed linear postmark.
- Printed on medium thick paper of good quality, very light off-white, made in single tone Medium Blue, very good ink, good stamping and perfect centring.
- No distinctive, mark or contrast has been found, which could give more information about this Postal Stamp.
Conservation and Damage:
- General condition: Very good.
- The stamp has been recently washed, so the gum is missing.
- The paper is clean and has no rust.
- Teeth very well preserved, being some teeth a little bit short.
- There are no faults or breaks on the stamp.
- The postage stamp shows the deterioration of it's time.
