Description:
- Sculpture of a Fu Lion, porcelain and of Chinese origin. Made now.
- This type of sculptures, were and are very common in the East. They are still made nowadays, and they have a great meaning.
- Fu Lions are considered as a symbol of protection against evil spirits, bad energies and people. They are usually shown with one or both forelegs resting on a sphere. Their eyes are always open, and with the fierceness of their gaze they intend to convey protection against evil spirits that want to violate the tranquillity of the place. The animal is a symbol of energy and courage.
- The piece is painted in various colours, predominantly blue, pink and gold. It has what looks like golden whiskers on its mouth.
- It has a heavy weight, so it is probably not hollow inside.
- At the base of one of the legs is a stamp with Chinese lettering.
