Description:
- Colour print of a frozen landscape, near Dordrecht, in the Netherlands.
- Jan Van Goyen (1596-1656) Dutch landscape painter of the Baroque period. He painted many canals in and around The Hague, as well as the villages surrounding the countryside of Delft, Rotterdam, Leiden and Gouda.
- The original painting by Goyen shows a cold landscape with many figures on a frozen lake.
- The sheet is glued only at the top to a piece of cardboard, which has a beautiful greenish-brown line around the sheet.
- The sheet is raised, but there is no writing on it. In the lower area is the description of the plate, and the location of the original painting, which is in the Lakenhal Museum in Leiden.
- The print is good. In colour.
Conservation and Damage:
