WOODEN STAFF COMPASS WITH CASE. LARGE. MILITARY. 1942

Description:
- Large wooden stick compass. This type of compass was used to draw large circles.
- It consists of a large wooden stick with two heads.
- The heads are movable and can be adjusted to the desired size.
- The compass is quite large and consists of five accessories and a small box. The accessories are divided into: two for pencil, two points, and one for ink.
- The little box, made of brass, holds two steel points and two pencil leads.
- The stick is made of a single piece of wood.
- The box, made of wood, was made specifically for this piece.
- Inside are several cardboard ‘templates’.
- On the top of the lid is the following inscription: Compasses Bean 26’ - MK II. On the inside there is also the word ‘Baxendale’ and a series of numbers on one end of the box.
- There appears to be a date on one of the heads: 1942.

Conservation and Damage:
- The compass is in perfect condition.
- It is complete and unbroken.
- It has small knocks and scratches due to age.
