Description:
- Used postage stamp, 9 pence, from Australia, year 1913. Violet colour.
- Obverse has Map of Australia with a Kangaroo in the centre, with the Digit ‘9 d’ at the bottom. On the underside the legend ‘NINE PENCE’.
- Reverse is clean, with the exception of the postmark.
- Vertical toothing:17. Vertical perforations:16.
- Horizontal indentation:13. Horizontal perforations:12.
- Circular postmark, probably Melbourne, with not legible date.
- Printed on medium thick paper of good quality, very light off-white, made in Violet monochrome, very good ink, good stamping and a very good centring.
- No distinctive, mark or contrast has been found, which could give more information about this Postal Stamp.
Conservation and Damage:
- General condition: Good.
- The stamp has been recently washed, so the gum is missing.
- The paper is clean and has no rust.
- Very scarce teeth in all the teeth.
- There are no faults or breaks on the stamp.
- The postage stamp shows the deterioration of it's time.
