IRON CYLINDRICAL PLUMMET FOR CONSTRUCTION WITH WALNUT. 19TH CENTURY.

Description:
- Complete Construction Plumb bob from the second half of the 19th century, with a solid iron weight, 11.5 cm. high and 3.0 cm. in diameter. It has the shape of a Cylinder, with an integrated Head, conserving the Nut, which is an iron plate, having been fitted with a Cordura of the period.
- The plummet was probably made in southern Europe.
- The weight has a conical top at one end, and at the opposite end the integrated head by means of a perforated orthohedron, which allows the Cordura to be fixed with the corresponding knot.
- The Nut is an iron plate, with a perforation that allows the Cordura to be fixed with the corresponding knot. It is 2.8 cm wide and 8.3 cm long.
- The quality of execution of the plumb bob is very good, both in the casting and in the turning of the weight.
- Neither on the weight nor on the nut has any distinctive mark or contrast been found, which could provide information about the place where it was made, the manufacturer's details, as well as information about its characteristics.
- Due to the characteristics of the iron, the time that has elapsed and the cleaning carried out, the plumb bob retains a very attractive patina.
