LARGE BRONZE BELL WITH ORIGINAL CLAPPER. S.XIX

Description:
- Beautiful hanging bell, made of bronze except the clapper, which is made of iron. The hook is also made of iron. Large size.
- This type of bells were used for various purposes, the most common use was to warn of the presence of certain animals, for which was hung from the animal's collar.
- The shoulder, the upper part of the bell, has no rings, it is smooth. The half foot, the place where the clapper strikes, has decorative lowered rings, but they are very worn. Overall, the bell has a good thickness.
- The hitch, ring and ball have rust. The ring and ball are one piece.
- The bell is used, as the inside of the half foot has several marked clapper marks.
- The ring/rung is very simple, with an elegant design.
- After careful analysis of the bell, we have come to the conclusion that it is cast in one piece.
- The bell has many casting flaws, so its execution is regular.
- It is quite rare to find a bell of this size and so complete.
