Description:
- Incomplete plumb bob for construction, from the first half of the 18th century, with a solid bronze weight, 9.4 cm high and 6.7 cm in diameter, shaped like a cylinder with several superimposed rings.
- The head is a small cylinder, perforated from side to side in a rectangular shape, with a circular perforation at the top, into which a recovered Cordura has been inserted.
- The plumb bob was probably made in southern Europe.
- The quality of the plumb bob's workmanship is very good, both in terms of the casting and the turning of the yellow bronze weight, all with simple and very good finishes.
- No distinctive markings, stamps or hallmarks have been found on the weight that could provide information about where it was manufactured, the manufacturer or its characteristics.
Conservation and Damage:
- The plumb bob is in very good condition.
- This plumb bob has been well cared for, so the weight is in very good condition, with many very small dents and scratches on the edges and sides, as well as on the faces, all of which correspond to the long use of the plumb bob.
- Due to the characteristics of bronze, it has a magnificent and attractive patina resulting from its use and age.
- The plumb bob shows the wear and tear typical of it's age.
