Description:
- Engraving of Brixen (Brixen im Thale), municipality of Brixental (Brixen Valley) in the Tyrol, one of the nine Austrian states.
- In the engraving, the old municipality of Brixen appears in the background, and in the front line a couple of peasants, resting.
- All titles and signatures are outside the plate.
- On the upper margin is the legend 'Tyrol - Tyrol'.
- On the lower margin is the legend 'Brixen'.
- In the upper right corner it is printed with the number '1', which suggests that the engraving is the number 1 of a series.
- In the lower right-hand corner, the Engraver signs as Cholet.
- In the lower left corner, the artist signs as Danwin.
- In the lower margin, in the centre, the director signs as Lemaitre (Augustin François Lemaître).
- Etching, although a different technique could have been used.
- Produced in a single-colour black tone, very good in ink
- It is probably an engraving belonging to a book.
Conservation and damage:
- General condition: Good.
- It is very well in ink, and has a good printing.
- The lateral margins are wide. The Engraving has a paper of fine thickness and regular quality.
- In its upper part it has a band of paper glued.
- The Engraving has small rust points.
- If it is slightly washed and bleached, the result would be very good.
