Description:
- Circular gold bronze medal, sculpted by Dorier and made by Alphonse Augis, issued in the first half of the 20th century to reward success in sport.
- Obverse side: The bust of an athlete, with the face in profile, and a laurel wreath on his head, is represented by a pronounced high relief. To the left of the athlete, attached to the perimeter of the medal, is the signature 'DORIER Sc.' and to the right of the athlete, attached to the perimeter of the medal, is the signature 'A. AUGIS Edt.'
- Back: Covering all its perimeter, it has two branches of laurel, leaving a smooth area in its centre, where it can be engraved.
- Singing: Plain containing the mark 'BRONZE'.
- On the back it has the recording, finished in blue, 'Concours Meilleur Apprenti 1981 - A.C.A.R.P.' which could be translated as 'To the Best in the Novel Competition 1981 - A.C.A.R.P.' A.C.A.R.P. was probably a French athletics or gymnastics association.
- We have not found any information about the sculptor Dorier, but he was undoubtedly a great artist.
- From the firm A. Augis, the executor of the medal, we believe that it belongs to the jeweller Alphonse Augis, author of the famous love medal 'Today I love you more than yesterday but less than tomorrow', who was active between 1896 and 1928, although his works have continued to be made by his heirs until much later.
- The artistic quality of the medal is very high, made in a personal style with great ease, achieving harmonious and expressive effects in the high reliefs.
- Both the obverse and the reverse are in a very good state of conservation, with only a small amount of wear on the athlete's breasts.
- The passage of time, in its more than 40 years, has provided a precious patina to the original golden treatment applied to the Medal.

Comments:
- Both measurements and weight are approximate.

- Very interesting as a collector's item and as a decorative element.

- Because it is inevitable the differences of tonalities between photos and reality, you must have in mind that the tones of the colours of the photos are not exactly equal to the tones of the real colours.

- The object shows the wear and tear of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws.

- The data provided here are not contrasted personal opinions.
