- All titles and signatures are outside the plate.
- In the upper margin it has the legend "France (Carlovingians) - France (Carlovingiens)".
- In the lower margin is the legend "Couped'Agate du IX S. conservée á la B.R ale - Agate cup of the 9th century preserved in the Royal Library".
- The number "174" is printed in the upper right-hand corner, which suggests that the engraving is number 174 of a series.
- Augustin François Lemaître: French engraver, lithographer, designer, publisher and photographer. He depicted many landscapes, monuments, architecture and people, especially during his many travels in Europe.
- Intaglio etching on steel plate, although another technique could also have been used.
- Produced in a single-colour black tone, very well inked.
- It is probably an engraving belonging to a book.
