ENGRAVING CIVILISATION PLATE 14 GRAS & Cª. INDICA, CLOTHES, ORNAMENTS, BUDDHA, ETC.

Description:
- Engraving corresponding to Plate 14 of Civilisation, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.
- The engraving depicts various elements of the Indica civilisation, such as costumes, private houses, earthenware vessels, standard, musical instruments, etc.
- In the upper margin is the title 'CIVILISATION', and in the upper right-hand corner is printed 'Lam. 14', which identifies it as Engraving No. 14 in a series on civilisations.
- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different objects of the civilisation indicated, such as the sculptures of Mahamalaipur, the Krischna festival in Dschaggernaut, etc.
- Intaglio etching on steel, although a different technique could also have been used.
