Description:
- The Object for sale is the one corresponding to the photos, which in turn are complemented in this Description, with the aim of providing a better knowledge of the Object, and never being a detailed exhibition of it.
- Engraving on the cover of notebook number 12 of 4 reales (not on a plate), and signed on the plate with the initials 'AM' of Apeles Mestre. Dated 1883.
- In the centre is a portrait of the bust of Gustave Doré, surrounded by a magnificent composition of drawings by Apel-les Mestre himself, among them, Children's Stories, Dante's Inferno, etc.
- The engraving on the cover of the booklet is on thin grey paper. It is made with wood panel, woodcut, and single-colour tone in black.
- The magnificent works of the artist Apeles Mestre (1854-1936) can be distinguished. A writer, drawer and musician, he was an independent artist and a modernist. His work as a humorous draftsman and illustrator is also copious. He was the forerunner of the comic strip, collaborated with cartoons in the periodical press of the time and was also a prolific book illustrator.
Conservation and damage:

- It has dirty edges, with small breaks and folds.
- The image is centred with very good margins.
- It has good printing, and good ink levels.
- The engraving has not suffered any external aggressions such as humidity, insect or rodent attacks, etc.
- Although it is a very delicate paper, it is recommended that it be washed and bleached, as the result could be perfect.
Comments:
- Both the measurements and the weight are approximate.
- Very interesting as a collector's item and as a decorative element.
- Because it is inevitable the differences of tonalities between photos and reality, you must bear in mind that the tones of the colours in the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the real colours.
- The cover shows the wear and tear of its time, as well as some stains. It has some small flaws.
