- Beautiful engraving by Adolphe-François Pannemaker, based on one of the representations of 'A Scene of the Flood' by Gustave Doré (1832 - 1883), belonging to the collection of Illustrations of the Holy Bible.
- God said to Noah: 'I have decided to put an end to all mortals, because the earth has been filled with violence because of them. That is why I will destroy them along with the earth'. The Flood fell upon the earth for forty days. As the waters rose, they carried the ark upward, and it rose above the earth. This passage is mentioned in Genesis 6:5-8:19 of the Bible.
- Engraving made on a wooden plate, in single-colour black tones. Signed on the plate by Adolphe-François Pannemaker, as engraver, and Gustave Doré as draughtsman. The title appears outside the plate.
