Description:
- Woodcut, wood engraving of a view of Alicante.
- Gustave Doré (1832-1883) was a French artist, painter, sculptor and illustrator. In France, he is considered the last of the great illustrators and internationally one of the most famous illustrators of the 19th century.
- The colour engraving shows a view of the bay of Alicante with a large number of ships. It depicts the attack by a French fleet on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. In the background, the walled city of Alicante and the castle can be seen.
- Gustave Doré's signature appears in the lower left corner and Delduc's in the lower right corner.
- It belongs to a periodical publication, as letters can be seen on the back.
- The engraving is glued to black cardboard. It is small in size and unframed.

Conservation and Damage:
- Overall good condition.
- The engraving is on thick, good quality paper.
- The paper is not dirty and has no rust or moisture stains.
