Description:
Beautiful Bronze Medal, by unknown author, probably from the beginning of the 20th century. On the obverse it has in high relief, following the stylistic lines used by the Greeks in their coins and medals, the profile of the bust of a classical Greek. At its base you could interpret what you see, like the Greek word 'DIQTYDOR', which means 'Dictator'. The reverse is smooth, so probably this medal would be made for some commemoration. In this way a smooth area was provided, in which the corresponding data could be recorded. The patina of the obverse of the medal, is product of that has been a long time in a very humid zone, and probably without any protection. This type of medals and plates, are usually found with much dirt, because in many occasions they have been abandoned long time. This medal has been applied a delicate and expensive process of various cleaning techniques on the front, to be able to present its current appearance, avoiding to damage the patina according to the medal. The reverse has not been touched by us, so it is in the same state of purchase, having been scraped before to remove the layer that covered. Very interesting as a collection and decorative piece.
