Description:
Beautiful Octogonal Japanese box. We place it in Japan, although with clear Chinese influence. The exterior of the body is octagonal, although its interior is cylindrical. In four of the faces has a grid painted. In the other four, are represented by leaves and flowers what could be the four seasons of the year. The cap is cylindrical, topped with a small golden silver dial, which has been placed at the moment, since the original auction was lost. It has four legs, shaped like a small sphere. The entire box is treated with a red layer, on which has been painted a light blue background, which has darkened over time. On this blue, the various motifs have been painted, using paintings with enough body to give a certain volume to the painting, especially in the golden tones. The various paintings have numerous faults, which does not fail to bring a great class to the current result, with a very attractive appearance. The width and the bottom are measured face to face. If they are measured from edge to edge, the width and the bottom are 11.7 cm. The lid has position, and is very tight, so you have to use a knife to open it, and thus avoid pulling the ball, because it can break. It is a very interesting box as a collection and decorative piece. Spectacular in an illuminated alcove, with a minimalist decoration.
