Description:
- Rectangular jewelry box, made of brass with copper and silver wire inlays, forming geometric designs, and lined with wood inside, from the First Half of the XX Century.
- Both in the lid and in the sides, it has a series of legends in oriental alphabet, inserted in elementary geometrical figures.
- The Box is made of quite thick brass plates or sheets, except for the one at its base, which is much thinner. Its interior is made up of thick wooden plates.
- All the superimposed fittings are held in place by bolts. The corners of the box are rounded which makes it look like a trunk.
- At the bottom of the base, in the upper left corner, there are some marks made with a punch, of what seems to be a numbering: '01'.
- It has a beautiful work of careful care, which has provided a nice patina.
- This type of work corresponds to those made at the beginning of the 20th century in Damascus (Syria), where the name Damascene comes from, recovering the old Turkish styles, and following the ancestral methods of metal treatment. Similar styles have also been developed in Persia and Arabia.
- Damascene is defined as a craft that consists of the realization of figures and drawings through the inlay of gold and silver threads and sheets in steel, copper or iron, usually bluing.

Conservation and Damage:
- The Box has a very high quality of execution, which has facilitated that it is in a very good state of conservation.
- It would be necessary a detailed cleaning, restoration and subsequent treatment of the wood.
- The base of the box is detached in its front left corner.
- It has several strokes, which are more noticeable at its base, being this thinner.
- Some silver inlays are missing in several places and a copper inlay on the left side.
- The clasp
