MARIANA CONGREGATION MEDAL. AUSIÓ S.XX

Description:
Beautiful Medal shaped as an intersection area of ??two circles, die-cut aluminum. The style is a late neo-Gothic. Probably ends of the First Half of S. XX.
Obverse: Virgin standing on a ball of the world, with her arms crossed on her chest, crowned and bordered, on a background dotted with the Marian Congregation Symbol. This symbol comes from the Crismón, with the superimposed letters X (Chi) (K) and P (rho) (r). Which are the first two letters in Greek of the word Xpiotóc (Christos) (The Anointed One). From the two upper arms of the X, hang two bars, transforming the X into one of M of Mary. On the perimeter is inscribed the motto 'Congregatio Mariana', 'Ave Gratia Plena Dominus Tecum' (Marian Congregation, Ave full of grace).
Reverse: At the base it has two holy ones, one with a chalice in the hands, a sign of the blood of Christ, and another with a baby Jesus in his hands, a sign of the birth of the Childhood of Christ. Between them there is a bouquet of flowers from which a third saint appears, holding a crucifix in his hands, a sign of Jesus' sacrifice for the world.
Bordering the upper third, it has inscribed the motto: 'Adjutor et Protector Factus Est Mihi' (you are my assistant and protector) (MIHI). In the lower third, it has inscribed the motto: 'Cor Unum et Anima Una'. (A Heart and a soul). In the lower corner, the symbol of Mary 'AM' is inscribed, the letter A linked with the letter M. Its meaning is Ave Maria. To the right of the lower angle, there is the inscription 'Ausió', corresponding to the author of the high reliefs.
This medal is very scarce. There are other medals, more common, of the same Marian Congregation, of similar design, but not the same. A Mariana congregation is a group of Catholic faithful, with the majority of the congregations linked to the Society of Jesus. Very interesting as a collector's item and decorative element.

Comments:
Due to the fact that the differences in tonalities between photos and reality are inevitable, we must bear in mind that the color tones of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the actual colors. The piece presents the wear and tear of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws. The information provided here are personal opinions not contrasted.
