Description:
Beautiful modernist ashtray with panther. The ashtray is made with an alloy of gray metals. It has two distinct parts, the base and the panther, both of the same material. The base has been made with a sheet, die-cut. The panther, which is hollow, could be made in two ways. One way could be by electroplating, and another way could be by die cutting, both of which are then finished off the joint of the molds. The whole set is bathed in copper and then plated. The silver ones are well preserved in the lower part of the base, while in the upper part of the whole ashtray the silver is almost completely lost and the copper has only been lost in some parts. The wear of both silver and copper, significantly improves the appearance of the ashtray, providing a very nice and interesting patina.
Comments:
Because the differences in tonalities between photos and reality are inevitable, it must be borne in mind that the color tones of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the actual colors. It presents the own attrition of its time, as well as some stains. It has small damages. The data provided here are unconfirmed personal opinions.
