Description:
Pretty mustache for ink from the Second Half of the nineteenth century. It would probably belong to a box of measures. It consists of two pieces. The handle, with a shaft that incorporates the needle arm, and the tongue body. The handle is made of brass in one piece. It incorporates the rigid needle arm, forming the axis of rotation.
The original needle has been lost, and a sewing pin has been placed in its place. The opening of the mustache, that is to say, the distance between the needle arm and the tongue body, is adjusted by means of a wheel that is screwed to a threaded bolt with a stop at its opposite end, fixed to the needle arm by means of a micro bolt that allows you to turn. This distance is the one that sets the radius of the circle that is intended to be drawn.
The body of the tongues is in one piece, made of nickel-plated steel. It is attached to the needle arm by a screw on its upper part. It has enough oxidation. The distance between tabs is adjusted by means of a wheel that has a threaded bolt that goes through one of the tabs and screws into the other. The tips of the tongues are in very good condition.
It is convenient to carry out a cleaning, and an adequate treatment for the rust, which would significantly improve its appearance, and greatly revalue the piece. Very interesting as a collector's item.
