Description:
- Incomplete instrumental plumb bob from the second half of the 20th century, with a solid nickel-plated iron weight and without preserving the nut.
- The body of the weight is cone-shaped, 6.6 cm. long, 3.8 cm. in diameter and 200 gr. in weight, with a threaded head.
- Thread of small size and diameter, with thread and small pitch.
- Head with flat brass thread.
- We think that the plumb bob is nickel plated, although it could be chrome plated.
- Very good and nice patina is preserved all over the plumb bob. The quality of the iron casting, and the execution of the plumb bob, is very good.
- No distinctive mark or contrast has been found that could provide information about the place where it was made, the maker's details, or any other information.
- The plumb bob was probably made in southern Europe.
Conservation and Damage:
- The plumb bob is in a good state of preservation, but the Weight has several small knocks and scratches, all of which correspond to a rather careful use of the plumb bob. It has a broken tip, almost imperceptible, but a very small piece is missing.
- The plumb bob has the wear and tear of it
Comments:
- Both the measurements and the weight are approximate.
