- Melchor Aracil Gallego (1906-1966), painter from Alicante, very involved with his city and its customs. He created bonfires and posters for the fiestas. His works include different techniques and themes: portraits, landscapes, still lifes, etc.
- The painting shows a simple, elegant vase with beautiful flowers. It is signed by the artist.
- The artistic quality and execution is very good. The medium brushstrokes are very loose, which gives the sketch great liveliness.
- The painting is executed in a variety of colours, browns, reddish and bluish.
