Description:
- Oval wooden tray, made in Germany, and hand carved. From the 50-60's, approximately
- On its edges, it is inscribed with the following phrase in German: 'Unser taglich brot gib uns heute' which means: 'Give us this day our daily bread'.
- The Tray is carved from a single piece of wood, except for the four legs, which are attached to the Tray.
- In each of the handles of the Tray, there is a beautiful bunch of grapes carved, with the smallest detail.
- It is possible that it was used as a fruit bowl or table centrepiece.
Conservation and damage:
- Apparently it does not have woodworm, nor remains that it has had in the past.
- It maintains a nice period patina.
- The tray is in perfect state of conservation.
- The object shows the typical wear and tear of its time.
Comments:
- Both the measurements and the weight are approximate.
- Very interesting as a collector's item and a decorative element.
- Because it is inevitable the differences of tonalities between photos and reality, it is necessary to have present that the tones of the colours of the photos are not exactly equal to the tones of the real colours.
