Description:
- Pair of brass boxes inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
- Each of the boxes has a rounded mother-of-pearl inlay on the top lid.
- The boxes are made of light-weight brass with a mother-of-pearl roundel on the top.
- The workmanship of the boxes is not very good, they are somewhat coarse and lacking in attention to detail, but the result is still very attractive.
- They are complete. Given their small size they could be used as pill boxes.
- We have not found any Contrast or Distinctive on the Medal, which would give us the identity of its authors.
Conservation and Damage:
- The boxes are in good condition.
- Both the lid and the base of the box have small dents and scratches.
- On the inside of the boxes, part of the brass has been soldered to the base. The remains of the soldering can be seen on the inside.
- The object shows wear typical of it's age.
