Description:
- Pewter teapot, Art Deco style.
- Beautiful Art Deco style teapot. It is made of nickel silver and hand chiselled.
- On the top of the lid there is an oval bone piece that serves as an insulator and as a handle to lift the lid without burning yourself.
- On the handle, there are two porcelain earrings, one at the top and one at the bottom, and they are placed so that the heat from the teapot does not transfer to the handle.
- It has an elegant design, with a clear Art Deco influence, so we place it between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
- It is meticulously chiselled without being ostentatious.
- The base has two stamps and two numberings: 'EP=BM BHA - 9278 - 4'.
- After some research, we know that the letters EPBM stand for: Britannia Metal, this one from Sheffield.
- A specific type of pewter alloy, popular for its silvery appearance and smooth surface, is called 'Britannia Metal'. It is ductile and easily rolled, melted and cast. This alloy is used for the manufacture of Oscar awards.
