- Color print of the Temple of Tulum, in Mexico.
- Frederick Catherwood (1799-1854) was an English explorer, draftsman, architect, and photographer. He explored the ruins of the Mayan civilization, traveling to many different countries, including Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Colombia, creating drawings and etchings of the sites he encountered. He became famous for his explorations of the Mayan ruins in the company of the writer John Lloyd Stephens.
- This print depicts the temple of Tulum in Mexico, with natives in the foreground and explorers helping to remove branches and trees from the ruins. This was the journey where Catherwood accompanied Stephens on two expeditions through the archaeological ruins of Central America and Mexico, and the accounts of their odysseys were a great success.
- The print is on semi-rigid glossy card.
- At the bottom are the name of the temple, the name of the explorer, and London 1844.
- The printing is good. In color.

Conservation and Damage:
- Overall condition is good.
- The edges and corners are bent, especially the upper right corner. However, it is complete without tears.
- It shows wear consistent with it's age.
