Description:
- Complete plumb bob for construction of the first half of the 19th century, with a solid iron weight.
- The body of the weight is cylindrical in shape, 11 1 cm. high, 4,4 cm. diameter and 1.224 gr. weight.
- The iron weight has the head integrated in the body of the plumb bob. It has two deep grooves along the body.
- The nut is original of the plumb bob, made of wood, it is preserved in perfect condition, in spite of the many knocks it has had due to its use. It has a curious shape where the plumb bob is positioned.
- The Weight is perforated vertically, with two different diameters, having made a larger cavity in its lower part, which allows the Cordura to pass through and its knot to be lodged in the vertical perforation of greater diameter and therefore integrated in the Weight.
- No distinctive mark or contrast has been found that could provide information on the place where it was made, the manufacturer's details, or any other information.
- The plumb bob was probably made in southern Europe.
Preservation and damage:
- The plumb bob is in a good state of preservation, with many, but very minor knocks and scratches.
- There is a very good and beautiful patina all over the plumb bob. The quality of the iron casting and the execution of the plumb bob is very good.
- The plumb bob shows the wear and tear of it's age.
