Description:
- Milk jug, made of Japanese Kutani porcelain.
- Kutani porcelain is a type of Japanese glazed porcelain. Characterised by a very well-defined decorative pattern with a black outline, they were very successful.
- We introduce it in the Showa era (1926-1989).
- It is a beautiful milk jug, with a grey base and a variety of colours, gold, pink, red, etc. It has Japanese characters, floral details and houses. All hand painted.
- The jug is of medium thickness, with sound to the touch, made of white porcelain.
- The figures represent a family, a married couple with two daughters.
- On the base are the letters: Made in Japan, in red.
- After analysing the jug, we have come to the conclusion that the technique used is a mixed one, using decals on some parts and hand-drawing most of the jug.
- All these characteristics give the jug a very interesting patina, with a very attractive and high quality appearance.
Conservation and Damage:
- The jug is in good condition.
- It is complete, with its original lid. There are no chips or hairs.
- Some areas show wear to the paint and the gilding, but these are not very important.
- It shows wear typical of it’s age.
