Description of the Content:
- The book, written in Spanish, is conceived as a work and consultation tool, both for construction professionals and for any other person interested in the subject of architecture and construction. The content is very well structured and of great interest.
- It is printed from 1884 onwards, since, although it is not dated, on page 53 of the text the date is 15 February 1884.
- The author Juan Carpinell, master builder, compiles and arranges all the extensive information, with the collaboration of architects and other construction professionals.
- The book contains a first part of the Text, in which the sheets of the second part are described, as well as an example of Memory, Budgets and Ordinances.
- The engravings of the Laminas of the second part, lithographs in their entirety, show from the quartering of the ashlar of an arch to a view of the patio of the lions of the Alhambra of Granada, passing by plants and distributions of houses.

Book Description:
- Sewn binding of good execution, with guillotine cuts.
- Text in single color printing in black, very well inked, with good printing, and in general well centered and with good margins.
- Lithographs in their totality outside text, printed mostly in black monochrome and in a significant part of them in three and four color inks. Illustrations, with good printing and well centered, in general have acceptable margins, although in some cases we consider them to be poor margins.
- The Text on white matte hollowed paper, of medium thickness and bad quality.
- The Illustrations on white matt hollowed paper, with several thicknesses between medium and thick, being in general of good quality.
- Hard covers of full maroon editorial fabric, and maroon leather spine with four nerves, of good quality.
- The spine is printed in gold 'CARPINELL' 'PRACTICAL ARCHITECTURE'.
- Guards of paper printed with 'small filigree' in blue, of fine thickness and low quality. The two inner pages of the guards are glued to another recovery sheet, hiding the old printing, in order to gain thickness and therefore resistance.

Conservation and Damage:
- The general status of the book is - The book has suffered moisture in its back.
- The pages of the text are in regular condition, since the paper used is of very low quality and with time it has become very brittle, breaking extremely easily. They have many stains and rust spots. They are very dark. They have small cracks on their edges, some of which have been provisionally repaired with transparent cello.
- The illustrations are in regular condition, depending on the paper used, since it is not the same in all of them. The last engraving is very deteriorated, the penultimate engraving is deteriorated and the antepenultimate engraving is slightly deteriorated, all due to the humidity suffered. The sheets have small breaks on their edges, specifically 64, 65, 90 and 98. Some of these breaks have been provisionally repaired with transparent cello. - The guards are in poor condition, particularly the back, which has suffered directly from the existence of moisture.
- The rear cover is very deteriorated, due to humidity. The covers can be recovered quite well by proper tinting.
- The cuts are well preserved and with little dirt. The upper cut is slightly dirtier.

Comments:
- Both measurements and weight are approximate.
- In spite of the delicacy of this book, both for its quality and for its conservation, it is very interesting to be able to have it, since its content is very well structured and of great interest, both for professionals or students of the sector, and for more or less specialized consultations.
- This book is ideal as a study, consultation and entertainment piece.
- Because it is inevitable the differences of tones between photos and reality, it must be borne in mind that the tones of the colors of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the real colors.
- The book presents the wear and tear of its time, as well as some stains. It has some minor flaws.
- The data provided here are non-contrasting personal opinions.
