Description:
- Colour print of Claude Monet's “Study of a Boat”.
- Claude Monet (1840-1926), French painter, one of the founders of Impressionism. His early works are realistic in style, and from the late 1860s onwards he began to paint Impressionist works.
- The painting is very famous and is called Monet's Study of a Boat. In this painting, the boat is moored between two posts, motionless on the water. A figure is vaguely distinguishable in the cabin, probably Monet himself. Most of the canvas is occupied by the calmly flowing river, which reflects the study of the boat with the trees, but also the sky. Claude Monet gives an impression of tranquillity on the water on a summer's day.
- The print is glued only at the top to a piece of cardboard, which has a nice light grey line surrounding the print.
- The print can be lifted, but there is nothing written on it. At the bottom is a description of the print and the location of the original painting, which is in the Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller, Otterlo.
