Description:
- Round Amakusa porcelain box. Medium size.
- The box is decorated with a beautiful floral decal that surrounds both the base and the lid.
- The lid has a pretty gold line decorating the edge, as does the knob, which covers it almost entirely.
- The base is stamped with the word “Amakusa”. In the old fiefdom of Amakusa, on the island of Kyushu, the village chiefs encouraged all the people of the fiefdom to try their hand at making a living from pottery, and from the 17th century onwards, both pottery and porcelain were produced in the province. Amakusa porcelain is either pure white with a transparent quality or has a warmth that comes from the use of isu wood ash. Amakusa Tojiki is moulded into a wide range of tableware and other household items that meet contemporary needs.

- The box is in perfect condition.
- There are no hairs or breaks.
