Description:
- Engraving Soldiers on horseback, Germans, Sarmatians and thistles.
- All the titles and signatures are outside the plate.
- In the upper margin it has the legend 'Germaine - Germania'.
- In the lower margin is the legend 'Cavaliers. 1 Germanins. 2. Sarmate. 3. Chausse trape - Soldiers on horseback. 1 Germanos. 2 Sarmatians. 3. Abrojo'.
- The number '16' is printed in the upper right-hand corner, which suggests that the engraving is number 16 of a series.
- Augustin François Lemaître: French engraver, lithographer, designer, publisher and photographer. He depicted many landscapes, monuments, architecture and people, especially during his many travels in Europe.
- Intaglio etching on steel plate, although a different technique could also have been used.
- Produced in a single-colour black tone, very well inked.
- It is probably an engraving belonging to a book.

Conservation and Damage:
- General condition: Fair.
- The upper side and the left side of the paper do not maintain the parallels to their opposite sides, resulting in the paper of the engraving with an irregular shape.
- The ink is very good and the print is well stamped.
- The engraving has a medium-thickness paper of regular quality.
- The engraving has suffered from humidity, so the paper has small humidity stains and rust spots in the central part of the print.
- The engraving is dirty, and the edges are much dirtier, with very small tears, and the tips are slightly deteriorated with slight bends.
- If a light washing and bleaching were applied to it, the result would be very good.
