Description:
- The three volumes, written in Spanish. Travel books describing an itinerary undertaken in May 1846 through all the Spanish provinces and overseas possessions, documenting with encyclopaedic criteria the most relevant and striking aspects of the geography, history, statistics, legends, customs and literature of each place, each accompanied by engravings based on drawings by Mauricio. A second edition in two volumes was subsequently printed in the same printing house.

Description of the book:
- Very well executed sewn binding, with guillotined edges, from the mid-19th century.
- The text is printed in single-colour black, with very good ink, well centred and with good margins.
- Books printed on fine white paper of average quality.
- Hard covers in half leather, Dutch style, of good quality. Dry gold tooling.
Conservation and Damage:
- The books are in good condition, but with some parts quite oxidised.
- Edges with some dirt and no stains. There is a difference in the treatment of the edges, resulting in a different colour on the edges of the pages, separating the parts of each volume into two.
- The binding is Dutch, of high quality.
- The first volume has rust and moisture stains, affecting many of the engravings outside the text, but not all. It has some small tears in the corners.
- The second volume has engravings outside the text in very good condition except for some rust, but near the end of the volume there is a large rust stain affecting about 50 pages; it affects the text without affecting any important engravings.
- The third volume is in the best condition, and the engravings outside the text are all in fairly good condition, especially the coloured ones. The rest of the book has some rust stains, but overall it is in fairly good condition.
- The corners are slightly damaged with slight creases and folds.
- The book has not suffered any external damage such as attacks by insects, rodents, etc.
- The book shows the wear and tear typical of its age.
