- Its interior is mostly written with poems, drawings and names of the suitors of the time. It has blank pages.
- On the front is a profile of a girl, in the Art Nouveau style, with floral details surrounding her, and in the lower right corner the signature: Bois.
- The artist, Paul Du Bois (1859-1938), was a prominent Belgian sculptor and medalist belonging to the Art Nouveau and Symbolist movements. Although he is celebrated for his large public monuments in Brussels and his sculptures in bronze, marble, and silver, Du Bois combined these major commissions with the design of high-end applied arts. During the Belle Époque, Art Nouveau sculptors often licensed their drawings and small reliefs to goldsmiths and foundries for the production of luxury everyday objects.
